Scientific Java Software Developer – Java, Linux, Science, Mathematics, Computing £competitive + Benefits, Cambridge
A well respected organisation based in Cambridge with an excellent reputation for R&D is looking to bring on board a Scientific Java Software Developer to work alongside their academic team. This company has a solid history behind them and have made some outstanding discoveries over the years, heavily invested in research their reputation is known on a global scale.
If you enjoy being in an academic environment and enjoy working with scientific models that this is the job for you!
Some hands on experience of coding in Java in a commercial setting, GUI development, Git, ORM, familiar with Agile principles, Linux, testing, debugging, SQL, good comprehension of the full software development cycle, designing databases, APIs, JSON and ideally degree educated in science, natural sciences, mathematics, computing, however, other qualifications + experience will be taking into consideration.
If you come from a C++, C#, ASP.NET background with a frim grasp of Java please don’t be put off from applying as we are happy to consider this if you are looking to make the transition into this area.
The more relevant examples on your CV then the better please.
In return for your skills this job will provide with plenty of variety including but not limited to, developing scientific models, designing and maintaining databases, assisting with core business applications and collaborating with external suppliers to advise on their requirements.
This is great job for someone that likes being in a scientific environment, some travel might be required from time to time although very occasional and with notice.
