telecom mediation solution

The rapid emergence of different services and the evolution of network elements are driving a paradigm shift in the telecommunications industry. Faster and accurate collection, correlation and delivery of data have become vital for successful billing and rating. The convergence has triggered a major growth in the number and types of services and accelerated the emergence of network technologies. These have paved the way for completely convergent mediation solution that can accommodate the innumerable services that will be rolled out in the near future. It will also help the operators to achieve their goal of winning over competition and ensure profit.

oss bss mediation and provisioning solutions

UMT’s Mediation and Provisioning solution Pegasus has been designed to be completely convergent, data-loss-proof, simple-to-use, rapid-to-implement and put up the delivery requirements of numerous end applications with active/standby fail-safe and extensive rule support. UMT has extensive experience in providing leading mediation solutions to the communications industry-both startups and existing operators across the globe.

Pegasus enables customers to support variety of network element types and technologies, independent of the vendor, the protocol or the topology used.

Pegasus captures customer usage events from any service delivery network, from next generation technologies like LTE, WiMAX, to legacy technologies like CDMA, GSM, Fixed line, Satellite, Cable TV, IP etc. Pegasus supports variety of standard protocols like FTP, SFTP, Socket, FTAM, Web service, X.25, MTP etc. for data collection with extensive rule support for filename/sequence number validation, duplicate checking etc. It provides interface with various NEs for service provisioning using various protocols like Telnet, Socket, LDAP, Web/HTTP, SOAP, API etc.

Pegasus is highly scalable as it is built around distributed and modular architecture for efficient load balancing and increased performance across different hardware nodes. Pegasus is designed to support processing of large quantities of data such as events, commands and xDRs.
Pegasus has inbuilt active/standby fail-over support which protects revenue loss and minimize the system downtime for continuous business operation support.

Advanced collection mechanism of Pegasus ensures that every EDR, generated by the network elements are captured. In case of any anomaly, the system raises alarms that helps operator to locate the point of failure.

Pegasus has extensive and rich set of rule support like field enrichment, CDR splitting, external file/DB lookup etc. that can cater to any downstream application as required by business logic. The GUI has an integrated rapid development environment for business logic allowing service providers to quickly change business rules, or add new interfaces. User-defined element configuration function of Pegasus allows the network manager to rapidly map the switches and other network elements as soon as they are introduced.

Rule-based correlation function identifies and merges different streams of usage records generated out of different elements for a single instance of usage.  Thus creation of ready-to-rate records enhances the rating function besides rendering the flexibility to price both traditional and contemporary services like IPTV, 3G and LTE etc.

Pegasus provides graphical and intuitive user interface by which the fields desired by individual end applications can be chosen and then formatted as required. New applications can be instantly plugged into the system without posing any limitations on the number of such applications.

Pegasus provides comprehensive set of event and alarm management mechanism for fault occurrence, critical system performance and user is notified through email.

Pegasus provides extensive reject management mechanism for viewing, correction and reprocessing of erroneous CDRs. Pegasus provides comprehensive rule mechanism for automatic error correction of CDRS, filter out the non-billable CDRs and segregates the different kinds of CDRs to different downstream applications.
